This horse arrived on 2-14-07 with a one day old de-gloving fence wound.
The skin flap was separated down below the intercarpal joint level and bone was exposed (photo 2), but the
extensor tendon was not cut. The goal was to adhere the skin flap back to the flexing knee joint.
Technique- to place gauze soaked with Lacerum Gel (Platelet Rich Plasma) between the de-gloved skin flap and
the underlying tissue using an occlusive bandage. Twelve days later, the skin flap had adhered. The twelve to
thirty-six day treatment focused on maturing the granulation tissue. Cellulitis occurred after the skin flap had
adhered back and is being reduced by exercising the horse in a paddock situation.

Notes- Bib and neck cradle had to be employed to keep the horse from chewing. Special bandaging was employed
to save time and improve healing. (refer to bandaging section for more details.)We are awaiting follow up pictures
to be sent to us by the owner.
